Receptionist - Outpatient Therapy Office

We are seeking 3-4 dedicated individuals to join our team as an Office Receptionists in our outpatient therapy offices located in Union County NJ.  As a key member of our healthcare support team, you will play a vital role in ensuring a welcoming and efficient office atmosphere.

Job Details

• Employment Type: Permanent
• Hours Per Week: 40
• Shift Duration: 8 Hour Days
• Current Shift Schedule:
  • Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 7 AM – 3 PM
  • Tuesday, Thursday: 10 AM – 6 PM
• Future Hours: 7 AM – 6/7 PM
• Distant Future Hours: Includes Saturday 7 AM – 2 PM
• Hourly Rate: $18 - $23, based on experience

Job Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a therapy office setting or similar healthcare role
• Experience with obtaining authorizations, verifying insurance, scheduling, and collecting co-pays
• Knowledge of HIPAA & OSHA guidelines
• Proficiency in medical practice management systems and electronic medical records
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in/out patients for their appointments
• Answer phone calls and return voicemails
• Schedule and confirm appointments for patients
• Verify patient benefits and update EHR/PM systems
• Collect and post patient co-pays, deductibles, and balances
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
• Assist with billing and insurance processes
• Attend staff meetings and continuing education sessions
