The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a pivotal role in providing comprehensive nursing care within our facility, prioritizing the well-being of our inmates/residents. Reporting to the Health Service Administrator, the RN executes orders from Licensed Independent Providers, administers medications, and assists in examinations and treatments.
Job Details
- Weekly Pay Range: $1,487 - $1,652 (depends if local or travel)
- Duration: 6 weeks (strong opportuntiy to extend)
- Shift: 12 Hour Days
- Hours Per Week: 36
Responsibilities:
- Execute orders from Licensed Independent Providers and provide comprehensive nursing care.
- Dispense and administer medications as per applicable policies and procedures.
- Assist in examinations and treatments, ensuring efficient patient flow.
- Attend sick call with physicians, preparing examination rooms and equipment.
- Operate pill call, dispense medications, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Communicate with Licensed Independent Providers for medication orders and emergencies.
- Assess and refer inmates/residents to appropriate healthcare facilities as necessary.
- Perform emergency procedures and notify providers for treatment orders.
- Coordinate professional medical services provided by contract personnel.
- Monitor and facilitate early releases for inpatient hospitalizations.
- Supervise and guide licensed practical nursing staff and non-licensed medical staff.
- Read, analyze, and interpret medical and technical procedures and documents.
- Review and respond to lawsuits; attend court hearings if necessary.
Requirements:
- Graduate from an accredited college, university, or nursing program with a degree/diploma in nursing.
- Current licensure in the state of employment.
- One year of professional nursing experience preferred.
- Valid driver's license required.
