We’re currently assisting a Level I Trauma Center in the Philadelphia area seeking a full time, permanent Assistant Nurse Manager of their GI Unit. This renowned academic medical center is known as one of the leading teaching hospitals’ in the area, with a strong focus on research and medical education.

Job Summary
Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, the Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) plans, directs, organizes, coordinates, and evaluates the clinical and administrative activities of an assigned GI nursing unit. This role involves supervising, evaluating, guiding, and mentoring nursing staff to ensure optimal delivery of patient care. The ANM must demonstrate a deep understanding of nursing theory, practice, leadership, and management principles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise nursing staff, ensuring optimal patient care and staff performance.
  • Provide ongoing training, mentorship, and professional development for the nursing team.
  • Oversee staffing patterns to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Ensure adherence to hospital policies, regulations, and quality standards.
  • Foster an environment that promotes patient satisfaction and safety.
  • Act as a liaison between the nursing staff and other departments to coordinate care.

Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Required)
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing or related healthcare field (Preferred)
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Required)
  • A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Licenses and Certifications:
  • PA Registered Nurse License (Required)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required)
  • National certification in Nursing or Healthcare-related specialty (Preferred)

Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an RN (Required)
  • Experience in a clinical leadership role (Preferred)

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Ensure continuous performance improvement within the unit.
  • Lead patient satisfaction and quality initiatives.
  • Participate in administrative activities, including risk management and safety initiatives.
