Position: Pulmonologist
Location: Columbus, GA

About:
Nimbus Health – venture-backed company, 5 million dollars – based in Atlanta, bringing technology to pulmonary clinics, building in technology to improve patient outcomes.
  • Technology used for monitoring overnight resp. rate, heartrate, snoring, is pt. exacerbating, etc.
  • Predict exacerbation event.
National vision – acquire practices – most physicians in this specialty are in retirement age, looking to acquire practices from docs who are ready to retire
Nimbus Technology:
  • Blend of Nimbus + outside tech
    • Built software, mobile app, Nimbus portal – however sleep mat technology connects to pts’ Wi-Fi or cellular hub to collect data for example  
Need for this market: Emory St. Francis – close relationship with them – overflowed with pts. and they’re sending patients to Nimbus since the demand is so high (even though they’re a competitor!!)

Why is this position open?: This is their first clinic, open due to growth, looking for a full-time provider – “building this clinic from scratch.”

Can you tell us a little bit about the job/Job Description?:
Sole pulmonologist at the clinic
15 new pt visits/day
20+ visits/day
Current doc. does 40+ pt. visits but that’s aggressive

Notes: Pulmonologist needs to be interested in what they’re doing with technology to advance patient outcomes, will discuss their background – need someone more office-type physician

When do you need this person to start?: ASAP

How many other candidates are there currently in process?:
1: located in Pensacola but she’s been dragging her feet a bit for 3 months (Madeline Strittmatter)

Compensation: $400k base + 5% revenue share

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am – 5pm
Pulmonologist likely to do consults at the hospital earlier around 8am, but the clinic opens at 8:30am
Last patient visit scheduled at 4:30pm

On-Call/Weekends: No weekends
Overnight call – haven’t found an answering service vendor that they love quite yet

Covid Vaccination: double checking Nimbus requirement on vaccination status

Licenses/Certifications/Years of Experience:
Pulmonology medicine certified/pulmonology fellowship, sleep medicine fellowship to read sleep studies on pts
Could be straight out of school, don’t know how many visits they can do a day though, but open to it

Benefits: prefer 1099, but up to them – can extend W-2 offer
Will reimburse them for their own benefits coverage

  • 9 or 10 paid federal holidays

1st call with CEO – Clay Spence
2nd Head of Clinical Informatics – Sharvil Patel
3rd onsite, fly them out to Columbus.
