Job Title: Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Schedule: Monday – Friday
NO On-Call, NO Weekends – must work on-site, can accommodate a hybrid work from home schedule
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Responsibilities:
- Prescribes, directs, or administers psychotherapeutic treatments or medications to treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorder;
- Orders, analyzes and evaluates patient data or test findings to diagnose nature or extent of mental disorder;
- Collaborates with an integrated team to discuss treatment plans and progress;
- Performs psychiatric assessments and evaluations;
- Provides services using a combination of in-person, telephone, and video (telemental/telemedicine) as required/directed;
- Provides unscheduled and or emergent services as needed for walk-in, open-access, and crisis clients at any time during scheduled shift;
- Provides services beyond scheduled shift as required to meet the needs of acute walk-in, open access, and/or crisis clients;
- Designs, executes or approves individualized care plans, using a variety of treatments;
- Prescribes and monitor medications and other treatments;
- Evaluates recipient progress and makes referrals as needed;
- Gathers and maintain patient information and records;
- Documents all services within twenty-four hours of the date of a client’s visit and in accordance with state/federal guidelines and company policies and procedure;
- Participates in care planning and coordination meetings to facilitate care process as requested. As assigned, sees individuals who are an immediate crisis to curtail emergency visits and/or inpatient admissions;
- Participates in quality assurance and quality improvement activities;
- Maintains client confidentiality and confidential health information;
- Participates in meetings as scheduled;
- Meets or exceeds the then current individual billable units of service requirement;
Compensation: $144k – $147k based on years of experience
Requirements:
- Current and valid licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner / PMHNP or transferable license to NYS
- Current and valid licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner / PMHNP or transferable license to NYS
- Licensed to practice in the State of New York
- Current DEA registration
Qualifications:
- Previous experience providing psychotherapy to adults and/or children preferred
- Excellent knowledge and familiarity with current DSM criteria
- Familiar with crisis assessment tools and techniques
- Strong working knowledge of general psychiatric principles and practices
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Extensive knowledge with PC applications and electronic medical records strongly preferred.
