Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner – Colon & Rectal Surgery

A reputable healthcare group in Palm Beach County, FL is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) to support its busy Colon & Rectal Surgery practice. This is a full-time opportunity for an acute care provider with experience in post-operative care and surgical support, particularly within colorectal or general surgery.

Position Highlights:
  • Join a high-volume surgical practice with 5 providers
  • Handle 20–25 patient visits per day focused on post-operative and follow-up care (no new patient visits)
  • Assist with in-office minor procedures such as hemorrhoidectomies, anoscopies, fissure and rectal exams, and wound care
  • Primary responsibilities are in the outpatient setting, with a strong focus on continuity of care
  • Prefer candidates with experience in post-op pain management and comfort performing or assisting with colorectal procedures
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct patient assessments and develop treatment and follow-up plans
  • Assist with minor procedures and wound care in the clinic setting
  • Order and interpret diagnostic and lab tests
  • Prescribe medications and provide patient/family education
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure high-quality post-operative care
  • Ensure seamless care coordination across the continuum

Schedule: Full-Time | Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM


Compensation & Benefits: $115,000 - $152,000/yr (based on experience)

Qualifications:

For Nurse Practitioners:
  • Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Current Florida APRN license
  • Acute Care Board Certification
  • DEA, BLS, and ACLS certifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of NP experience, including colorectal or general surgery

For Physician Assistants:
  • Master’s degree from an accredited PA program
  • Current Florida PA license
  • NCCPA certification, DEA, and BLS
  • Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in colorectal or general surgery

Preferred Experience:
  • Prior clinical experience in colon & rectal surgery strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with post-operative pain management and wound care protocols
