Physician Assistant - Urgent Care, Mobile / Home-Based in Fairfax County, VA
Join a leading, nationally recognized healthcare organization as a Physician Assistant specializing in urgent care services. This full-time role offers a unique opportunity to deliver high-quality, patient-centered healthcare directly in patients' homes in the Fairfax County, Virginia area. Our innovative model allows us to provide comprehensive care, including point of care laboratory studies, minor procedures, splinting, wound care, suturing, IV fluid, and medication administration.
Job Details
- Hourly Pay Rate: $70 - $77/hr
- Schedule: 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts
- Sign-On Bonus: $10,000
Job Requirements
- Minimum of two years of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider in Emergency Department, Urgent Care, Internal Medicine, or related fields
- Graduate with an advanced degree from an accredited institution
- Current unrestricted state license as a Physician Assistant
- Nationally board certified
- Current BLS required, ACLS certification preferred
- Prescriptive authority and DEA
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work a varied schedule including evenings, holidays, and weekends
Responsibilities
- Work as part of a clinical care team with a Medical Technician to deliver care in the patient’s home through innovative in-home care service lines
- Perform comprehensive health assessments and diagnose and treat complex illnesses
- Provide therapeutic interventions, such as splinting, suturing, wound care, and minor procedures
- Use critical thinking skills and follow evidence-based standards of practice
- Accurately document patient encounters and ensure continuity of care
- Educate patients and families on managing their health and well-being
- Effectively navigate difficult conversations related to end-of-life issues and goals of care
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Adhere to clinical and safety standards, protocols, and performance metrics
- Provide care with compassion, empathy, and cultural competency
- Maintain positive relationships with DHMT partners and remote teams
