Physician - Medical Director - Corrections

Salary: $150.00 -$160.00 HR (paid weekly and eligible for benefits)

Location: Marlton NJ

PTO: PTO – 3 weeks plus 6 paid holidays

Hours: Monday – Friday (Weekend schedule – on call as needed –the APN/NP cover the weekends and the Medical Director is available for calls as needed)

Reports To: Health Services Administrator, Corporate Medical Director
Responsible For: All Clinical Staff

Clinical Time: 75%

non-Clinical Time: 25%

Position Summary:
Oversees medical services for inmates at the facility, ensuring adherence to clinical guidelines and community standards. Manages clinical services, collaborates with specialists, and provides quality control through education and audits. Acts as liaison with correctional officials and public agencies. Works with the Health Services Administrator to ensure effective care and fiscal responsibility.

Requirements:

• Education: MD or DO from an accredited medical school, US-based residency, unrestricted medical license in the state.
• Experience: Minimum two years in public health, emergency, or family practice; correctional health care experience preferred.
• Skills: Critical thinking, independent decision-making, interpersonal communication, basic computer skills, CPR certification, unrestricted DEA prescriptive authority.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct physical exams and document care.
• Review and approve clinical guidelines and disaster plans.
• Supervise chronic care clinics and coordinate patient care.
• Perform medical examinations and treatments.
• Oversee clinical services and staff, including hiring and training.
• Handle emergency treatment and ensure accurate record-keeping.
