Nurse Manager - Labor & Delivery

 

A progressive, non-profit health network is seeking an experienced, career-focused Nurse Manager for their Labor & Delivery unit in one of their multiple locations in New Jersey! This permanent role offers the chance to lead a dynamic labor & delivery unit within a beautiful, state-of-the-art facility with Baby-Friendly hospital designation, recognized as one of the "Best Hospitals for Maternity Care."

As the Nurse Manager, you will be responsible for the clinical oversight and daily operations of the Labor & Delivery nursing staff and support staff, averaging 40-50 FTEs.  

Compensation: $110,000 - $140,000/yr (Depending on total Experience as Nurse and Leader)
  • Annual Bonus Incentive, up to 12% 
  • Sign-On Bonus: $10,000 (confirmation needed)
  • Benefits: Extensive medical/dental and vision benefits, Generous amount of Tuition reimbursement
  • Paid Time Off: 5 weeks 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
  • 3 years of clinical Registered Nurse (RN) experience
  • 2 years of Charge Nurse, Assistant Nurse Manager, or Nurse Manager experience
  • Labor and Delivery management experience preferred
  • Registered Nurse - NJ license
  • AHA BLS - Healthcare Provider certification
  • NIH Stroke Scale Certification (or must obtain by end of orientation)
  • 8 hours of Stroke-related Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) contact hours annually

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate unit and facility teams/committees impacting clinical practice
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills and resolve conflicts
  • Coordinate unit activities and assist staff in professional development
  • Ensure compliance with State Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards
  • Lead quality improvement processes and monitor patient care satisfaction
  • Develop policies and procedures based on evidence-based practice
  • Manage clinical practice and patient care delivery for optimal outcomes
  • Prepare, plan, monitor, and execute budgetary standards
  • Allocate nursing resources based on patient acuity
  • Participate in unit employee selection and retention practices
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members for patient care management
