Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C) - Inpatient Nephrology
Join our dedicated healthcare team as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C) specializing in Nephrology. This role involves providing exceptional care in the inpatient dialysis unit and offering nephrology consultations primarily at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Cedar Campus. You may also rotate between PPMC and HUP, as well as local dialysis units within proximity to the Penn campus.

- Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM
- Shift Duration: 8-hour days
- Shifts per Week: 5
- Duration: 13-week contract
- Start Date: January 20, 2025
- Weekly Pay Range: $4,800-$5,120
Job Requirements
- Board Certified Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant
- PA and/or NJ CRNP/PA-C licensure required
- PA and/or NJ Prescriptive Authority required
- PA and/or NJ RN licensure (RN) required
- ACLS certification for acute care setting
- BLS/CPR certification as per AHA for ambulatory setting
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing or Health Sciences
- Experience preferred, but new to practice APPs will be considered
Responsibilities
- Provide direct clinical care for patients using evidence-based practice standards
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records in the electronic health record (EHR)
- Identify self to patients and families, clarifying the role of NP/PA as needed
- Function within scope and refer to collaborating physician when necessary
- Participate in performance improvement processes to meet quality care standards
- Address patient and family concerns, providing education and support
- Participate in accreditation, compliance, and regulatory activities
- Precept students and other healthcare learners
- Identify patient/family needs for community resources and refer appropriately
