Nurse Practitioner - Substance Abuse, Local Contract in Eureka, CA

Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) specializing in Substance Abuse for a 13-week local contract in Eureka, California. In this role, you will work closely with physicians to provide medication-assisted therapy and collaborate with therapists and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. This on-site position offers a consistent schedule, allowing for a great work-life balance.

Job Details

  • Pay Rate: $90/HR
  • Start Date: December 16, 2024
  • End Date: March 15, 2025
  • Employment Type: Local Contract
  • Hours Per Week: 40
  • Shift: 8-hour days, Monday to Friday, 6 AM - 2 PM, with weekends on rotation

Job Requirements

  • Current DEA-X Prescription license
  • Licensed Nurse Practitioner in accordance with California state laws
  • CPR, First Aid, and BLS certification
  • Experience or knowledge in the field of drug abuse is recommended
  • Maintain continuing education credits as required by the licensing board

Responsibilities

  • Perform client physicals as directed by the Physician
  • Supervise nursing staff and dispensing operations
  • Oversee medication storage and inventory processes
  • Maintain accurate data in patient computer files
  • Coordinate patient care with PCP or other prescribing physicians
  • Consult with counselors and supervisors regarding patient needs monthly
  • Conduct Health & Physicals at intake and annually
  • Participate in case planning and consultations with the healthcare team
  • Provide weekend coverage as needed
