Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner specializing in Pediatrics to provide coverage in our Pediatric APP unit. This locum position will support our pediatric team during peak patient volume periods. You will work alongside experienced staff and ensure high-quality care for our pediatric population.
Pay Rate: $110.00 - $118.00 Hourly (paid weekly & Eligible for Health Benefits)

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care for pediatric patients (ages 0-18) in an acute care hospital setting.
- Collaborate with pediatric hospitalist attendings and residents.
- Manage an average daily patient census of 16-22, with potential increases during winter months.
- Participate in on-call coverage as needed.
- Document patient care using EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Schedule:
- Shift: Day shift from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, including weekend coverage and on-call responsibilities.
- Holidays: Coverage may be required during observed holidays (e.g., New Year’s Day, Labor Day, Independence Day, etc.).
Requirements:
- Education & Certifications:
- Board Certification in Pediatrics (PNP).
- North Carolina state license (compact accepted).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required.
- DEA registration required.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in pediatrics (ICU/CC experience not mandatory).
- Skills:
- Proficient in EPIC EMR charting.
- Ability to manage complex pediatric patients, including those with medical complexities such as G-tubes and trachs.
- Experience with diverse populations, including a significant refugee and immigrant demographic.
Facility Details:
- Type: Acute Care Hospital
- Trauma Level: Adult II, III, IV
- Inpatient Pediatric Ward: 22 beds, with an additional 6 pediatric beds anticipated to support winter volume.
