Assistant Nurse Manager - Acute Care, Psych, Behavioral Health
Join our healthcare team as an Assistant Nurse Manager in the Psych and Behavioral Health department in New Jersey. We are looking for a dedicated and experienced professional to ensure the delivery of quality care and effective management of nursing staff. This role collaborates closely with the Vice President of Patient Care Services and administrative personnel to uphold high standards of care and regulatory compliance.
Job Details
- Employment Type: Permanent
- Schedule: Full-time, 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Compensation: $105,000 - $145,000 per year (Depending on experience)
- Shift Duration: 8 Hour Nights
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree and graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse (RN) program
- Minimum of 3 years psychiatric experience and 1 year in a leadership capacity
- New Jersey State Professional Registered Nurse License
- Valid Driver's License from a USA state
- AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification within 90 days of hire
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms
Responsibilities
- Monitor and ensure patient care is provided within a safe and healing environment
- Promote a culture of safety, respect, and trust for patients, families, and staff
- Act as liaison with Access staff on admissions and EMTALA compliance
- Direct and coordinate interventions during emergency situations
- Obtain emergency medications and supplies in the absence of a pharmacist
- Assist with chart reviews and audits for compliance with regulations
- Supervise and maintain a safe, orderly, and therapeutic work environment
- Resolve conflicts diplomatically with patients, families, and staff
- Provide direction on ethical issues, including privacy and confidentiality
- Ensure staff have necessary resources to fulfill responsibilities
- Mentor, coach, and motivate staff regarding performance and conduct
- Analyze staff training needs and ensure appropriate training is provided
- Encourage workforce diversity and include staff in decision-making
